If anyone has any Information on this line of Thomas Withers married to Elizabeth Bonham and their child Reuben Withers, I would appreciate it very much.  We have found Ron Surmon and he has given us some info that we think might be a link to where he belongs.  No one else has any connection to this line of  Withers.

Reuben Withers was the only child of William Withers and His wife Elizabeth Bonham. He apparently did not get along with his stepmother and left home. Sonny tells much about this in his journal.

Reuben Withes was a member of the Union Club in 1850 and was acting Governor. My understanding is that the Union Club is the oldest club of its type in this country. The Knickerbockers Club grew out of the Union Club as many members felt that the Union Club had grown lax in their membership policies. David Dunham Withers was a member of the Knickerbockers Club in 1855 and Alfred Dunham was a member in 1870.

The Metropolitan Club was established by J. Pierpoint Morgan and as a result, one of his friends was denied acceptance into the Union and Knickerbockers Clubs because of bad table manners.
